This is my honest 3-day review. Construction: The weight balance is on point. Craftsmanship is flawless. Mine is the Sonic Gray model and the color is creamy and classy. Weight: It's not a feather, but it's not a vintage Les Paul either. Sits in a good average of all the strats I've played. Playability: The neck just feels right. The frets are pleasantly chunky and make bending notes a breeze, even on 10s. The tremolo feels very stiff but nothing that can't be fixed by adjusting the clamp screws in the back. The satin neck is fast. It'll take whatever you throw at it. Chords, shreds, vibrato, even slapping and finger plucking. You hit it and it slaps you back. Sound: This guitar resonates like a fine acoustic. Unplugged it's loud and harmonically rich. Amplified it's as strat-ish as it gets. Hendrix, SRV, Clapton and Mayer. That's what it sounds like. Tuning stability: It's ok. I have to tune it a little bit after 20 mins of playing. I haven't set it up yet so I'm pretty sure it's going to get better once I do. It's a fantastic value. Skip the Standards, which are roughly the same price used. This is a noticeable step-up. Bottom line: I'm in love with this guitar. I can't stop playing it. You can't go wrong with this model.
I've been buying/trading/selling guitars for over 20 years looking for a guitar that sounds good, plays good, and that I'd be happy to keep for life. This is that guitar. The neck is quite comfortable, frets are beautifully dressed, bone nut is filed perfectly for .10-.46 strings, action height makes playing blues and rock a dream, intonation is dead on, and the floating bridge is balanced well (and the pop-in trem arm beats my previous screw-ins!) and the 2-point mointing is very springy compared to the older 6-point mounted bridge.. The body (mine is a Sienna Sunburst finish) is a solid slab of Alder with gorgeous wood grain throughout, and is audibly resonant unplugged - which means awesome sustain when playing through my Vox AC30. The pickups (new V-Mod single coils) have that classic Stratocaster sound dialed in - they are articulate and punchy. Each note is distinct, even with heavy gain from a RAT overdrive and Big Muff fuzz stacked. The treble bleed circuit is nice for dialing back your output volume without your tone turning to muddy, flubby garbage. If I had to keep only one of my guitars, this would be it. I can say with confidence that unless this breaks or is stolen, I'll never need to buy another Stratocaster.
This is the most beautiful guitar I ever purchased. This is definently a keeper. Just got through setting up for my style of playing and can't put it down. Had a strat before but never cared for it. I'm more of a tele fan, but this one might change my mind. Love the way the tone knobs work with the treble bleed, you can get any sound you want. Awesome.
