The PRB1 is a bass model introduced by Ibanez in late 2007. It is a signature model for American bassist Paul Romanko who is known primarily for his work with American heavy metal band Shadows Fall. It was produced in South Korea.
What makes this guitar special? This is a straight-forward and simple bass that has great build quality, good tone, and is extremely comfortable to play. One of the best elements of its construction, the neck-thru features a super comfy contour on the neck heel so players can seamlessly move all the way up the neck into higher frets without hindrance. The slim neck profile and the setup our techs have given it make it that much easier to move around. The minimal fingerboard inlays, controls, and finish give this bass a great understated look, while the mono-rail bridge, top binding, and Paul Romanko inlay in the 12th give it enough flair to have some defined personality. The pickups sound great and the controls are simple, so this bass is ready to plug and play the second it is picked up.

Body: Double cutaway light ash body with top binding in Burgundy Wine Flat finish. Mono-Rail IV bridge. Cosmo black hardwear. Knurled control knob.
Neck: 5-piece maple and walnut neck-thru. Slim profile. Rosewood fingerboard with Paul Romanko inlay. 1 ½” nut width.
Electronics: PFR-AL4N neck pickup and PFR-AL4B bridge pickup. 1 x volume control, individually mounted Mono-rail IV bridges, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuners.
Playability/Sound: The slim neck on this bass is incredibly easy to play and with the finish worn a bit, is that much easier to move around. The pickups only have a volume control, but sound pretty great as is. It has a strong low-mid response with some punch and a bit of low end rumble.
Case: Includes a soft bag.
It recently had a pro setup made by Rui Silva Guitars and a new set of strings.
The finish on this bass is very high-end for this price range,with a gorgeous pearloid binding. I really recommend this bass. The PRB1 was discontinued after 2008 and replaced with the similar PRB2, which was made in Indonesia (inferior quality).
