Lakewood M1 Acoustic Guitar
A beautiful 2003 Lakewood M1 acoustic guitar in very good condition, complete with its original Lakewood gig bag. Handcrafted in Germany during a period when Lakewood had already established a strong reputation for exceptional build quality and refined acoustic tone, this is a genuinely high-quality instrument with a level of craftsmanship that stands far above most factory-produced acoustics.
The M1 is part of Lakewood’s highly respected M-Series Grand Concert range, featuring a solid spruce top paired with mahogany back and sides, giving the guitar a wonderfully balanced voice with warm mids, articulate highs, and excellent note separation. It responds beautifully to both fingerstyle and light-to-medium strumming, with the kind of mature, open sound that only develops after years of playing.
Playability is excellent, with the comfortable Grand Concert body shape making it equally suitable for long practice sessions, recording, or live performance. The neck profile feels smooth and easy in the hand, and like many Lakewoods from this era, the guitar has an understated elegance rather than flashy ornamentation. Everything about it reflects thoughtful German craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Condition is very good overall, especially for a 2003 instrument. It has been well cared for and only shows light signs of normal use, the exception being a few scratches on the top - as shown in the second photo. The guitar remains structurally excellent and plays exactly as a quality handmade acoustic should. Included is the original Lakewood gig bag, which is becoming increasingly uncommon to find still paired with these older models. Lakewood guitars have earned a loyal following among acoustic players for their consistency, tone, and build quality, and many musicians consider them comparable with far more expensive boutique acoustics.
