PORQUE VENDO: vou sair da Madeira. É o único motivo. Não é por o carro dar problemas. Se ficasse na ilha, ficava com ele.

O QUE FIZ AO CARRO

Comprei-o ao anterior proprietário imobilizado, sem trabalhar, e recuperei-o eu próprio. Levei-o ao melhor estado possível para a idade que tem, sem pressas e sem poupar nas peças:

- Embraiagem nova, era por isso que estava parado
- Bateria nova
- Travões revistos
- Fluidos e filtros substituídos
- Afinações e pormenores tratados um a um

Hoje arranca à primeira, trabalha redondo e anda todos os dias. Não é projeto nem "só falta isto".

O QUE NÃO ESTÁ PERFEITO

Prefiro dizer eu do que deixar que descubra. São quatro pontos:

1) MOSSA na porta traseira direita, com o friso amolgado. É chapa, é estético, não há ferrugem. Está fotografada de perto neste anúncio. Não mandei arranjar porque isso ia direto ao preço. Prefiro vender mais barato e ser direto.

2) A ficha da última inspeção anota uma PEQUENA TRANSPIRAÇÃO DE ÓLEO nas juntas do turbo. Foi classificada como deficiência ligeira, o carro foi APROVADO e circula normalmente. Não consome óleo entre mudanças. Digo-o porque está na ficha, e eu mostro a ficha a quem vier.

3) A CAIXA DO ESPELHO ESQUERDO TEM FITA. O espelho funciona e o vidro está em bom estado. É estético e já estava assim quando comprei o carro.

4) TETO DE ABRIR DE ORIGEM, SELADO, não abre. Não mete água nem tem qualquer infiltração. Nestes Freelander é aliás o que se costuma fazer, porque o teto de abrir é o sítio por onde estes carros metem água com a idade. Selado, esse problema deixa de existir.

Fora isto, é o desgaste normal de um carro com 27 anos: plásticos e pintura com uso.

VENHA VER, E TRAGA QUEM QUISER

Não tenho faturas das reparações porque o trabalho foi feito por mim. Por isso ofereço uma coisa melhor do que papéis:

Leve o carro ao SEU mecânico, à sua escolha, e mande ver o que entender. Sem pressas e sem condições. Eu vou consigo.

Prova na estrada garantida.

PARA QUEM SERVE

4x4 a sério, com tração integral permanente e 2000 kg de capacidade de reboque. Na Madeira isto conta: levadas, caminhos de terra, poios, obra, quintas, transporte de material, atrelado. Consumo razoável para um todo-o-terreno.

Freelander 1 a gasóleo, a andar e com inspeção válida até 2027, não é coisa que apareça na ilha com frequência.

CONDIÇÕES

- Não respondo a "qual é o último preço?" sem ver o carro

WHY I'M SELLING: I'm leaving Madeira. That's the only reason. It isn't because the car gives trouble. If I were staying on the island, I'd be keeping it.

WHAT I'VE DONE

I bought it from the previous owner off the road and not running, and recovered it myself. I've brought it to the best condition it can realistically be in for its age, taking my time and not cutting corners on parts:

- New clutch, that's why it was off the road
- New battery
- Brakes overhauled
- Fluids and filters replaced
- Everything else sorted one item at a time

It starts first turn, runs smooth and is driven every day. Not a project car.

WHAT ISN'T PERFECT

I'd rather tell you than have you find it. Four things:

1) DENT on the rear right door, with the trim line creased. Bodywork, cosmetic, no rust. Photographed close-up in this ad. I didn't have it repaired because that would go straight onto the price. I'd rather sell cheaper and be straight with you.

2) The last inspection noted a SLIGHT OIL WEEP at the turbo joints. Classed as a minor defect, the car PASSED and drives normally. It doesn't use oil between changes. I mention it because it's on the certificate, and I show the certificate.

3) The LEFT MIRROR HOUSING HAS TAPE on it. The mirror works and the glass is in good condition. Purely cosmetic, and it was already like that when I bought the car.

4) FACTORY SUNROOF, SEALED, it doesn't open. No leaks and no water ingress at all. On these Freelanders that's the usual fix, because the sunroof is exactly where they start letting water in as they age. Sealed, that problem is gone.

Beyond that it's normal 27-year-old wear on the plastics and paint.

WHO IT SUITS

A proper 4x4 with permanent all-wheel drive and 2000 kg towing capacity. On Madeira that matters: levada access, dirt tracks, terraces, building work, smallholdings, hauling material, trailers. Sensible economy for a 4x4.

A running Freelander 1 diesel with inspection valid to 2027 doesn't come up often on the island.
