The DiMarzio The Breed™ Neck Humbucker Guitar Pickup is a rich and expressive pickup for the electric guitar, designed for legendary guitarist Steve Vai. Intended as a contrast for the hotter DiMarzio Evolution® and Gravity Storm™ pickups on his other guitars, The Breed™ Neck delivers warm and fat classic humbucker tones to suit virtually any style. This pickup is uncovered and comes in Black.

The DiMarzio The Breed™ Neck pickup offers the smooth tones of a vintage PAF® humbucker, with a rich midrange and thick low end. Unlike most vintage pickups, however, its output is hot enough to allow it to be used alongside high-gain bridge pickups such as the Super Distortion® and The Tone Zone®. Its warm, dark tones and strong sustain mean that it works best as a neck pickup in bright sounding bolt-on guitars, but is more suited to the bridge position for warmer sounding set-neck instruments.
