Technical details

This model uses two 2SC460 transistors (Q1 Mixer and Q2 Oscillator), two 2SA12 (Q3 1st IF and Q4 2nd IF), one 2SB77 (Q5 Tuning Indicator), two 2SB75. (Q6 Audio Amp and Q7 Driver Amp), and two 2SB457A. (Q8 and Q9 Push-Pull Power Output).

This model uses PNP germanium transistors whenever possible, while the RF sections used the then new Japanese NPN silicon planar transistors. Hitachi developed silicon planar transistors like the 2SC460 in 1966. In the years after several Japanese radios have been seen using this mix of germanium and silicon devices, as germanium had lower production cost than the new high performance silicon devices.
