Sir Herbert Read has been one of the most influential thinkers and writers on the arts in our time. The Art of Sculpture is the text of the six lectures he delivered when he was A. W. Mellon Lecturer in Fine Arts at Washington, illustrated by a wealth of superb photographs, many taken specially at his instigation.
