The Yamaha CPX900 is fitted with Yamaha’s high-end System 57 preamp and A.R.T. Unlike basic undersaddle piezo systems, the System 57 uses multiple contact sensors positioned under the soundboard to capture more of the guitar’s natural resonance and dynamic response. The preamp itself features , 3-band EQ, master volume control, and separate gain controls for the bass and treble pickup elements, allowing very precise tonal shaping without introducing the harshness often associated with traditional piezo systems. The brushed gold control panel also gives the guitar a distinctly premium appearance. Players often praise the System 57 for producing a warm, studio-quality amplified sound with excellent clarity and articulation. Please note that the built-in tuner is not functioning, although this does not affect the guitar’s amplified performance in any way. To compensate, a clip-on tuner is included with the sale.
