Role Summary
We are hiring a Café Barista with at least 1-2 years of proven barista and guest-service capability to deliver a premium international café experience at our Oeiras location. You will prepare and serve a wide variety of espresso, latte, cappuccino drinks and teas to guests’ preferences, provide personalized service, and proactively contribute to a clean, well-run café environment.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in excellence, enjoys hospitality in a fast-pace environment and maintains professional standards under pressure, and genuinely enjoys serving people.
You must hold a NATO member country citizenship (Portugal, Spain, etc..). This is an absolute requirement for this role. **Do not apply if you don’t have this).

Key Responsibilities
1) Coffee Bar & Beverage Service (Barista Core Duties)
In this role, English is the primary language to operate and additional languages may be helpful
Prepare and serve a wide variety of espresso-based coffee, cappuccino, latte, Galão drinks and tea to guests’ wishes and standards
Maintain consistent beverage quality, speed, and presentation
Set up, maintain, and clean the coffee bar and beverage station throughout the shift
Follow recipes, calibration, and hygiene procedures to ensure consistency and safety
2) Guest Experience & Personalized Service
Deliver warm, professional, guest-focused service with a hospitality-first mindset
Offer personalized service as much as possible (remember preferences, anticipate needs, recommend options)
Proactively strive for optimal guest satisfaction and resolve minor issues quickly and respectfully
Support counter service, table service, and take-away flow depending on the café setup
3) Café Operations, Cleanliness & Standards
Maintain a clean and organized café environment (front-of-house, coffee bar, guest areas as assigned)
Support stock organization and replenishment of cups, milk, tea, consumables, etc.
Work closely with colleagues to keep service smooth during rush periods
Uphold professional appearance: service-minded, conscientious, neat, and customer-focused

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
Applicants must meet all of the following:
Education: High school graduate (or equivalent)
Experience: Minimum 1 - 2+ years of proven experience as a barista in a café, restaurant, bar or event service
Work References: Have your work references available for verification
Languages: Working proficiency in spoken and written English, Portuguese is helpful but not required.
Availability: Able to work Full-time, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed for extra compensation.
Attitude Attributes: Reliable to show up on time and responsible for their actions/behavior. Demonstrated ability to be positive, service-minded, dependable, and eager to learn and improve

Hospitality school students and graduates strongly encouraged to apply
Advanced barista skills (espresso calibration, latte art, specialty coffee knowledge)
Experience with POS systems and cash handling
Experience working in high-volume café environments or premium hospitality settings

If hired, must provide a valid Certificado do Registo Criminal issued by the Portuguese Ministry of Justice, dated within the last 12 months, confirming no criminal convictions relevant to the scope of duties
Hold all legally required work authorization / permits / certificates necessary to perform the job in Portugal
